2008-10-02: Freshers Fayre - Day 1

Day One - Done! - Thanks to everyone who came down and signed up. If you still haven't made it, then come along between 10am and 5pm today! (Thursday!)...

Just a quick heads up, if you are wanting to sign up, to any society or club it's advisable to get your cash out before getting to Freshers. The Union Cash points were out of money by 10.30 this morning! (It's £10 to sign upto Pure FM)

We'll also be running the stage again all day, so come up and say 'Hi' and we'll give you a shout out. In fact, if you come up and say "Welcome Along" we'll give you a free CD! :)

Also don't forget we're live at Langstone Student Bar in the evening - live from 8.00pm! If you can't make it to Langstone, be sure to tune in using the listen live button at the top of this page!

2008-09-10: Returning Members wanting shows....

We hope that you are enjoying your last few weeks of the Summer Holidays. The committee are already working hard to make this year better then ever before. As such, we are trying to design a schedule for the first few weeks of term (before we complete a full schedule).

If you are a returning member, and you would like a temporary show in Freshers Fortnight please contact Tom Skinner, our new Scheduling Manager.

You will nead to tell him your available times, and a rough outline of your proposed show.

We hope to see loads of you back this year! See you at Freshers...


2008-08-14: Flashguns make it to Reading and Leeds...
A band that Pure FM have been championing for the past year: The Flashguns, have been announced in the linup for the Reading and Leeds festivals, this coming bankholiday weekend.

 

The 4-piece band from Brighton/London, will be playing on the BBC Introducing Stage hosted by Huw Stephens.

Other acts 'Introducing' acts include: Attack! Attack!, Dinosaur Pile Up, Eureka Machines, Fangs, Skeletons, People on Earth, the Maybes, These Monsters, Thomas Tantrum, Tiger Shadow, Tripwires, Kid iD, and The Humour, to name just a few.

The headline acts on the mainstage this year, are: Rage Against the Machine, The Killers, Metallica, Tenacious D, Bloc Party, and Queens of the Stone Age.
